Love is sacred ground. Scripture goes so far to communicate the inseparability of love, as it pertains to God's character and work, that it plainly states, “God is love”. According to Jesus, all the teaching of the law and prophets is recursive to the theme of love. More specifically, He taught that the foremost of all commands was to love God. As well, He followed this by the command to love our neighbors (all of them). Bottomline: God-centered truth based love was the driving force behind Jesus. It should be for His followers as well.
I believe in the deity of Jesus. He is the one true Messiah and the only real Savior given to reconcile the world to God. The Lord Jesus Christ, as He confirmed in John 14:6, is the exclusive narrow pathway to salvation. He's the doorway to heaven. Anyone seeking to go there go must enter through faith in Him.
I believe that scripture (the bible) is completely true. It contains God's message to man through the ages and is the source of true Christian doctrine. It should be loved, revered, studied (to the best of one's capacities), and shared by every follower of Jesus. The scripture holds the answers to the world's needs, enlightens the believer to the will and ways of God, and ultimately brings the one who heeds it to divine wisdom.
The gospel (the good news) is the message of Christ's redemptive work. It declares that sin and it's legal authority was broken by the atoning death and resurrection of Jesus. In other words, it tells us that a way was made for people to have forgiveness of sins and be made completely just in God's sight. The gospel calls people to turn from sin and darkness. Ultimately, it's promise of eternal life is only effective for those who place their faith in the Savior - the Lord Jesus Christ.
